Baked Macaroni Cheese
The ultimate comfort food. This baked mac and cheese features a rich, creamy sauce and a crispy golden topping.

Ingredients
- 400g dried macaroni
- 50g butter
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 3 cups milk, warmed
- 2 cups grated tasty cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
Method
Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced). Grease a large baking dish.
Cook the macaroni in a large saucepan of boiling salted water following packet directions until al dente. Drain well.
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute until bubbling.
Gradually whisk in the warm milk until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat. Stir in the tasty cheese, half the parmesan, and the Dijon mustard until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
Stir the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well combined. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
Combine the breadcrumbs and remaining parmesan. Sprinkle over the pasta.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbling.
