Chocolate Brownie Slice
Fudgy, rich, and intensely chocolatey. This easy brownie slice is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients
- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 150g butter, chopped
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup plain flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease and line a 20cm square baking pan with baking paper.
Place the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (don't let the bowl touch the water). Stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Stir the sugar into the chocolate mixture. Add the eggs and vanilla, stirring until well combined.
Sift the flour and cocoa powder over the mixture and fold in gently until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. The edges should be set but the centre should still be slightly gooey.
Allow to cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into squares.
Recipe Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. They get fudgier the next day!
